N2 - Building Better Business MGMT 101 Spring '22 Building Better Business committed itself to completely gutting and improving a building located in Milton, PA. Our service partner, The Improved Milton Experience, has been saved over $20,000 as a result of our work. Members of the company demolished walls, ripped out the ceiling and floor, removed bathroom fixtures, and cleaned up the area surrounding the building. Outside of our work with the building, Building Better Business also held a workshop at Milton's Jungle Teen Center, teaching local students how to start their own business and included a fun poster making activity for their favorite local business. Members of the company gifted these posters to the businesses the following week. In line with our slogan "Shop Local," T.I.M.E. plans on using the gutted building as a "Milton Souvenir Store" where products made at the Milton MakerSpace can be sold. Building Better Business purchased 130 custom-made sweatshirts from Jordanna Adams, a local clothing brand with storefronts located in downtown Milton and Lewisburg, whose designs were created by Evan Kliman (VP of Human Resources) and Evelyn Pierce (Chief Creative Director). In a rush on the first day of sales, we sold out of all of our sweatshirts. We bought 20 more, and in total sold 148 sweatshirts for a profit of $1,100! To back our mission of buying locally, Building Better Business was able to draw hundreds of dollars into various local businesses in Milton and Lewisburg. As a company we promoted small restaurants through social media, on advertisements across campus, and bought and dined locally ourselves. Alongside directly promoting and supporting local businesses company, we were also able to raise hundreds of dollars for T.I.M.E. through GiveButter.Building Better Business
