    Abstract

On September 21, 2021, Bison Meals ‘n’ Wheels was established to help alleviate food insecurity in the Lewisburg and Milton areas. Bison Meals ‘n’ Wheels partnered with the RiverWoods Meals on Wheels program to aid them with delivering food for those in need, as well as providing lasting benefits for their generous organization. RiverWoods expressed their need for extra drivers to deliver the meals and we were happy to offer our services. For the span of two weeks, our company members arrived to their facility in the morning to prepare meals for the delivery to clients. Our company drivers picked up the prepared meals from RiverWoods and began their routes around the towns, dropping off meals as they went and bringing smiles to those who received them. In order to maximize the joy of the RiverWoods clients, our company found it a wonderful idea to hand-write letters of positivity and include them in each meal. Due to the overwhelming amount of work that RiverWoods employees do on a daily basis, they did not have a very organized shelving system for their food. After expressing to us that a new shelving unit would be very beneficial to them, a group of our company members built a shelf for RiverWoods so that they were able to neatly store their meals. Upon the conclusion of our company operations, we expressed our thanks to RiverWoods for allowing us to work with them on such an important cause. We were also very pleased to know that they greatly appreciated our help and cannot wait to work with future Management 101 companies! In order to provide lasting effects for RiverWoods, we wanted to give them a monetary donation in addition to our services. Our main source of income was through GiveButter, which we promoted via word of mouth, social media, and tabling in the Elaine Langone Center. We were fortunate enough to raise $3,875 for RiverWoods through GiveButter alone. We also hosted a Restaurant Week that was highly advertised among Bucknell students. Throughout the week, we partnered with Tonino’s, Sweet Frog, and Bull Run. Each restaurant was kind enough to give us a portion of their income from the night as thanks for attracting business. We were fortunate enough to raise $571.71 for RiverWoods through our Restaurant Week.
