About

Dan began working at the Bertrand Library in 2009 after finishing his M.A. in American Literature from Bucknell University. He also holds a B.S. in geology and has filled all requirements for a B.A. in Spanish from Bucknell. Dan began his library career in interlibrary loan and has taken on more responsibilities as the years have progressed. He now serves as Head of Discovery and Access Services. Dan is responsible for the full life-cycle of library resources, both print and electronic, and he works directly with colleagues to ensure the maximum usefulness of the library collection. He works with librarians, faculty, and staff in the development and implementation of collection development strategies and coordinates the expenditure of the library’s materials budget. He supervises staff members responsible for acquisitions, cataloging, electronic resources, periodicals and serials, access services and interlibrary loan, and he serves as a core member of the University’s copyright team. Dan also serves as Scholarly Communications Officer and oversees the University’s Open Access policy and institutional repository, Digital Commons.
